简介： A newly-launched local comedy captures the comical misadventures at the consulate of The Most Royal Kingdom of Feausi and the downfall of a New Zealand Foreign Affairs high-flier, who is dispatched to overhaul the consulate staff.

The star-studded cast includes Craig Parker, renowned for his roles in "The Lord of the Rings" and Sam Raimi's "Legends of the Seeker," as Leighton Mills, the Kiwi diplomat unexpectedly appointed as the guardian of the Fe'ausian consulate staff. Joining him is Dave Fane, celebrated for his work in "Outrageous Fortune" and "Sione's Wedding," playing Jonah, the endearing and effervescent Fe'ausian Ambassador to New Zealand, who is as shrewd as he is charming.

This delightful series is crafted by the talented James Griffin, a prize-winning writer. As a European New Zealander contributing to several of New Zealand's most successful Polynesian comedies, Griffin crafted a story that cleverly explores the "cultural fish-out-of-water" narrative.

"I was keenly aware of being the cultural outlier while working on 'Sione's Wedding' and 'bro'Town,' and it was then that the concept for Leighton materialized," Griffin reveals.

Since the 1950s, the satirical comedy involving a small client state holding a larger power to ransom has delighted audiences worldwide, with everyone familiar with the relationship's potential for humor. "Diplomatic Immunity" offers a scathing examination of the comedic chaos that ensues when these two cultures collide, drawing audiences in with its quirky and delightful characters.

In addition to Leighton and Jonah, the series introduces Leilani, Jonah's beautiful, democracy-obsessed daughter; Malepe (also known as DJ Ladykilla), a sly Fe'ausian economics advisor; Suga, a playful sex kitten; and Kirsty, the feisty receptionist who knows the ins and outs of everyone's business.
