简介： Max Kerner, by trade, is an antique book dealer who leads what seems to be an uneventful life with his wife, Andrea, and their son, Lukas. Beneath this seemingly unassuming demeanor, however, hides the shadowy figure known as "The Fox," a notorious crook. A suave and courteous thief, the Fox, in the spirit of Robin Hood, has taken it upon himself to "redistribute" wealth from the excessively wealthy to those in dire straits.

It is Andrea, a shrewd journalist, who eventually uncovers Max's true pursuits, prompting him to renounce his life of calculated thievery. Yet, she has a novel proposal: she wishes to join his team. Despite Max's every attempt to deter her – arguing that a successful thief requires talent, courage, intelligence, and years of honed skill – Andrea is resolute in her resolve.

Andrea, however, remains steadfast in her intention, and even manages to persuade Max's confederates to include her in their next escapade. Their subsequent "project," which Andrea learns about through her journalistic endeavors, is intended to aid the former World Chess Champion, Petrovski.

Having been utterly depleted by his last opponent, Kirilov, who has since amassed a fortune, the Fox and his cunning crew decide to restore balance to the wealth of the two chess masters. They devise an astute plan to outwit the greedy Kirilov and checkmate his avarice...
