简介： The Chipping Cleghorne Gazette proclaims a grim announcement: a murder is scheduled to occur on October 5th, at precisely 7 PM, within the confines of Little Paddocks Cottage. The residents of the quaint abode—retired secretary Miss Blacklock, her devoted companion Miss Bunner, Miss Blacklock's two estranged cousins, Patrick and Julia, and Mrs. Haymes, the diligent gardener—remain blissfully unaware of the sinister advertisement that has caught their attention. As dusk falls, several villagers converge upon the house, feigning casual strolls or claims of mere proximity to the area.

At the stroke of seven, the lights within the cottage abruptly flicker out, plunging the room into darkness. A shadowy figure emerges, brandishing a flashlight that cuts through the gloom, casting an eerie glow upon the faces of the unsuspecting guests. The air is rent with the sound of gunfire. When the lights resume their illumination, they reveal the intruder lying motionless, a victim of his own violence.

It falls to the astute Miss Marple to unveil the true identity of the assassin. However, her investigation is soon complicated by a series of additional, shockingly similar deaths.
