简介： Farouk Omar is a meticulously crafted historical Arab series, a collaborative venture between MBC1 and Qatar TV, and helmed by the distinguished director Hatem Ali. The series delves into the illustrious life of one of Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace be upon him) most revered companions and the second Caliph of the Islamic state, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him). Spanning 30 episodes, it vividly depicts the myriad events that shaped Umar Ibn Al-Khattab’s life, from his pre-Islamic years to his untimely assassination. Unlike other cinematic treatments of the same subject matter, this series is firmly grounded in well-established historical facts, thus avoiding any content-related criticism that has often dogged its predecessors.

The narrative commences with the 23rd year of the Hijra, at the sacred city of Makkah, where Muslim pilgrims have gathered for the Hajj. Amidst the throngs, the sight of Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) fervently engaging in Tawaaf, the ritualistic circumambulation of the Ka'abah, is a poignant one. As they embark on their return journey to Medina from Makkah, the series captures Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) reflecting on his past as a young camel herder in the desert. He remembers the rigorous labor and the corporal punishment meted out by his father, Al-Khattab, if he showed any signs of slackness. However, now, having embraced Islam, his life has undergone a profound transformation, freed from any intermediary between him and his Lord.

The series then takes viewers on an immersive historical journey as the memories flood back to Umar (May Allah be pleased with him), replete with the pivotal events that unfolded throughout his illustrious life.
