简介： The 1988 FIA Formula One World Championship marked the 42nd edition of this prestigious motor racing series. This season was highlighted by the concurrent 1988 Formula One World Championship for Drivers and the 1988 Formula One World Championship for Constructors, both kicking off on April 3, 1988, and concluding on November 13 following a total of sixteen exhilarating races. Ayrton Senna emerged victorious in the Drivers' World Championship, while McLaren-Honda triumphed in the Constructors' World Championship. Senna and his McLaren teammate Alain Prost jointly claimed fifteen of the sixteen races, with the exception being the Italian Grand Prix. In a poignant turn of events, Ferrari's Gerhard Berger secured an emotional win just four weeks after the passing of team founder Enzo Ferrari. McLaren's tally of victories has only been surpassed or matched in seasons that spanned more than sixteen races. Their Constructors' Championship tally of 199 points, which was more than triple that of any other constructor, stood as a record until 2002.
