简介： The tale commenced on April 20, 1988, amidst the enthralling episode of "Growing Pains" titled "How the West Was Won". In a dramatic twist, Mike Seaver's cherished mentor, Coach Lubbock, faces job loss, leading Mike and Boner to uncover that the coach is the breadwinner for a family of nine. The plot thickens as Coach Lubbock relocates his entire family to the sun-drenched locale of Eureka, California, where he assumes the role of coach at St. Augustine's Academy, a distinguished Catholic institution. The unforeseen challenge? The school is an all-boys' establishment, yet Coach Lubbock must navigate the enrollment of his five daughters. Amidst the whirlwind of sexual escapades, a valuable lesson is always imparted.

The Lubbock family was composed of Graham's devoted wife, Elizabeth, a woman of profound Catholic faith and steadfast values; J.R., a pre-teen delinquent with a penchant for horror films and causing mischief among his sisters; Sherrie, the intellectual pre-teen prodigy; and the adorable toddler duo, Harvey and Melissa. The series revolved around the charismatic Lubbock Babes: Marie, the oldest and the repressed, resembling a nun; Cindy, the free-spirited, space-cadet type; Wendy, the flirtatious daughter with flowing blond locks; and Connie, the literary one. In the second season, the quartet of teen daughters came together to form the singing group "The Lubbock Babes," capturing the spotlight at a local eatery.

The series also featured Graham's boss, Father Hargis, the self-absorbed and absent-minded school headmaster; Sister Ethel, the scatterbrained elderly nun; Duane Johnson, the athletic department head; and Gavin Doosler, the affable schoolgoer who harbored a crush on the Lubbock Babes. Throughout the show's tenure, half of the minor guest stars returned in various roles.

Despite not being heralded as a resounding success, the series has remained a cherished memory for many. Its enduring popularity can be attributed, in part, to the fact that following its cancellation, USA Network acquired the rights and aired the reruns daily for an impressive six years.
