简介：
The 1990 FIA Formula One World Championship marked the 44th edition of the esteemed FIA Formula One motor racing series. This season was a landmark year, hosting both the 1990 Formula One World Championship for Drivers and the 1990 Formula One World Championship for Constructors. These prestigious titles were fiercely contested concurrently across a grueling sixteen-race calendar that kicked off on March 11th and concluded on November 4th. The season culminated in Ayrton Senna securing the Drivers' Championship for a second consecutive time, while the McLaren-Honda team triumphed in their third successive Constructors' Championship.
The championship was a showcase of intense rivalry, with Senna and his former teammate Alain Prost engaging in a dramatic showdown. Prost, who had defected to Ferrari, mounted the Italian team's first title challenge in several years. His exceptional performance led him to take the championship lead following three consecutive mid-season victories. However, Senna responded with unwavering determination, entering the penultimate round at the Suzuka circuit in Japan with a commanding nine-point lead over Prost.
At Suzuka, Senna claimed the pole position, but Prost managed to overtake him off the line. In a fiery turn of events, Senna deliberately collided with Prost at the first corner, resulting in both drivers being eliminated from the race. This controversial move effectively sealed the championship in Senna's favor. It was the second consecutive year that the two drivers had collided at Suzuka, and Senna later admitted in an interview that the collision was a deliberate act of retaliation. Senna was incensed that Prost had been able to start on the clean side of the grid and had vowed not to allow the Frenchman to "make the corner" if he lost the starting position.
