简介： Atlanta, 1873. On this somber day, marked by the solemnity of Melanie's funeral, Scarlett's resolve is unwavering as she sets out on a determined quest to reclaim Rhett's affections (a quest complicated by his growing entanglement with Belle Watling). Her first move is to Tara, where she engages in a heated disagreement with Sue Ellen over the estate. With this initial skirmish concluded, she then journeys to Charleston, where she presents herself before Rhett's mother and her circle of friends, much to Rhett's chagrin. However, her efforts are thwarted when she is discovered in a compromising situation with Ashley, leading her to retreat to her mother's circle in Savannah, under the watchful, overbearing eye of her grandfather, Robelard, as Rhett seeks solace in the arms of a new bride.

Scarlett extends her reach to her O'Hara kin and encounters her cousin Colum, a reverend with a clandestine life as a gunrunner. With his guidance, she ventures to Ireland. There, she encounters the dashing Earl of Fenton, the owner of Ballyhara, the ancestral seat of the O'Haras. Upon purchasing the estate from him, Scarlett ascends to the roles of the family's financial and spiritual leader. Yet, her joy is fleeting as a series of calamities befall her, and she is forced to depend on Rhett's love to rescue her from the clutches of a death sentence.
