简介： In 1895, the societal norm dictated that women were not anticipated to engage in the field of medicine, nor were they expected to have any knowledge about it. Their roles were predominantly confined to those of housewives, mothers, teachers, and nurses. However, there was one determined woman who aspired to challenge these expectations. Eleanor Bramwell, under the mentorship of Sir Herbert Hamilton, found herself discontent. It was following a foolish misstep by her mentor, which led to the tragic loss of a young mother in perfect health, that Eleanor felt the time had come to leave her indelible mark on medical history.

Despite being derided by her peers in the medical community and facing skepticism from her father, Dr. Robert Bramwell, Eleanor soon secured a renovated building through the generous donation of Lady Cora Peters. With this newfound space, she embarked on establishing her own infirmary, known as The Thrift. Yet, amidst a sea of adversities, could she persevere? Could she realize her dream? Would her fellow medical professionals ultimately place their trust in her?
