Immersed in the verdant heart of South Carolina, the small town of Trinity serves as the haunting backdrop for the gripping horror-drama-thriller series, "American Gothic." Within these shadowed streets, not all that appear to be as they seem, and an eerie sense of loyalty to their leader, Sheriff Lucas Buck, permeates the community.

Sheriff Buck's son, Caleb Temple, has lived a life of secrecy, raised by a different family and mistakenly convinced that a man known as Gage is his biological father. The arrival of local physician, Dr. Matt Crower, injects a curious spark into the town's tranquility, as he grows increasingly intrigued by the sudden preoccupation of the Sheriff with Caleb's life.

Amidst the unfolding intrigue, Caleb's cousin, Gail Emory, arrives in Trinity, determined to protect him at all costs. Yet, her mission is fraught with complexity as she finds herself inexplicably drawn to Sheriff Buck. The emotional landscape is further complicated by the arrival of Caleb's schoolteacher, Miss Selena Coombs, whose jealousy threatens to unravel the delicate equilibrium of the trio.

In a supernatural twist, Caleb finds an unexpected ally in his deceased sister, Merlyn, who returns as an ethereal angel. Driven by an unwavering resolve, she is prepared to go to any length to keep Lucas Buck at bay.
