简介： Felix McClure, a distinguished professor from Oxford University, met a tragic end at the hands of a stabbing in his college study. Not only was he an esteemed scholar in his domain, but he also played a pivotal role as a key fundraiser for the University. The investigation is centred on a figure named Brooks, who once served as a cleaner for McClure before abruptly resigning from his college position. This resignation followed a dramatic incident where a student, Mathew Rodway, jumped from a college window under the influence of drugs. Morse, upon discovering that Brooks' daughter was the target of affection from both Rodway and another student, considers her as another potential suspect. Furthermore, Morse learns that Brooks' wife had worked for a friend of McClure's, leading him to uncover a complex conspiracy that may prove elusive to unravel.
