简介： "Kindred: The Embraced" is an American science fiction television series crafted by John Leekley Productions and Spelling Television. Drawing a loose inspiration from the role-playing game "Vampire: The Masquerade," the series made its debut on Fox on April 2, 1996. It comprised eight gripping episodes before its premature cancellation on May 9, 1996. The narrative centers on San Francisco Police Detective Frank Kohanek, portrayed by C. Thomas Howell, who, while probing into the allegations against mobster Julian Luna, played by Mark Frankel, uncovers a startling truth: his city harbors a clandestine vampire population. Julian, the "prince" of the city, reigns over five vampire factions collectively known as "The Kindred." These creatures thrive on the principle of "masquerade," blending seamlessly into human society, and Julian rigorously enforces the laws that govern them to safeguard their secrecy. Despite their differences, Frank and Julian forge an uneasy alliance as they collaborate to avert a looming vampire conflict, all while Julian grapples with his burgeoning romantic inclinations towards human reporter Caitlin Byrne, portrayed by Kelly Rutherford.
