简介： Had it not been for C.C. coincidentally intervening, Maxwell and Fran might have consummated their plans within the hospital bed adjacent to Niles. Post incident, Fran feels a sense of optimism, recognizing that at last, something is unfolding between them. Conversely, Maxwell remains indecisive, and Niles offers him a flippant suggestion to distract Fran with a trivial task, such as redecorating a room, to grant him additional time to ponder his next steps. Fran is acutely aware of Maxwell's tactics. Sylvia perceives Maxwell's maneuver as an invitation for Fran to integrate herself into his life and household, particularly since the room in question is a haven: the kitchen. Initially, Fran desires to undertake all the labor herself, reminiscent of Maxwell's first wife, Sarah, who had done the same with their home. However, Sylvia persuades Fran to seek assistance from her flamboyant decorator cousin, Sheila.
