简介： Disney Channel's chilling original series, "So Weird," made its haunting debut on January 18, 1999, following a robust marketing campaign by the network. The narrative revolves around Molly Phillips, a bereaved rock icon embarking on a comeback tour. Years prior, she was a member of the Phillips-Kane Band, alongside her late husband, Rick, and their friend John Kane. The untimely demise of Rick led to the band's dissolution. Molly then transitioned to composing advertising jingles to sustain her family. Now, nearly a decade later, she's chosen to resume her musical journey. Accompanying her are her two teenage offspring, Jack and Fiona, along with her manager, Irene Bell, and her family, which includes her teenaged son, Clu, and her husband, Ned, who also serves as the tour bus driver. Together, they traverse the nation aboard their tour bus, where eerie occurrences seem to shadow them at every turn.

Molly's daughter, Fiona, or "Fi" Phillips, is a tech-savvy youth with a penchant for the supernatural and the esoteric, constantly on the lookout for the unexplained. Her older brother, Jack, a pragmatist, disdains his sister's fascinations and frequently mocks her for them.

In the second season, Fi uncovers the reason for her inexplicable attraction to the paranormal. It transpires that her father, Rick, had explored the same mysteries as she did before his passing, and that these inquiries were connected to his death. She also learns that malevolent forces extracted him from his body prior to his demise. Her resolve to unravel the enigmas surrounding everything intensifies, only to discover that the spirit realm is far from pleased with her inquisitiveness.

In the third and final season, feeling she's missing out on the ordinary aspects of life, Fiona decides to stay with her aunt to complete the school year as her family continues their tour. Concurrently, a 15-year-old musician named Annie Thelan, the daughter of Molly's closest friend, joins the Phillips family for a spell. Annie, no less extraordinary than Fi, is drawn to the supernatural as effortlessly as a magnet attracts iron. This season, with its lighter tone, was met with dissatisfaction by many fans, contrasting sharply with the darker themes of the previous installments.

"So Weird" concluded in September 2001 after reaching its 65-episode ceiling, a limit imposed by Disney on all its series. The show lingered on the air for approximately a year post-series end, before being relegated to a bizarre time-slot of 3:00 AM, a time when only the sleepless could tune in. Finally, on September 8th, 2003, Disney pulled the plug on the show to accommodate its new fall lineup, and it has not been aired since.

This series stood out as one of Disney Channel's more sophisticated offerings, and due to its occasionally mature content, it was assigned a TV-PG rating—a distinction not shared by any other Disney original series. Although these "X-Files" for the younger set are no longer on the air, they will forever be cherished as one of Disney Channel's most innovative and imaginative series.
