简介：
Sheila and Bri openly discuss their challenges in nurturing a profoundly disabled daughter. Bri, in his role as a schoolteacher, finds himself struggling to keep his finances afloat. Despite his youthful mindset, he is frequently taken aback by the reality of his adult life, complete with a career, a home, and a family.
Conversely, Sheila embraces her role as Joe's primary caregiver. She harbors vivid dreams for her daughter, envisioning Joe attending school, running, and dancing with joy.
In Act I, Sheila and Bri primarily grapple with the issues affecting their immediate family. Bri laments the marriage they once enjoyed before Joe's arrival; Sheila, while laughing off his antics, secretly wishes he would mature.
Act II intensifies the tension as Bri's mother and two of Sheila's friends arrive unannounced. During their discussion about little Joe, Bri's patience reaches its breaking point. He impulsively concludes that life would be simpler for everyone if Joe were to pass away, and he begins to attempt to bring on pneumonia.
By the end of Act II, Joe's miraculous recovery from pneumonia prompts Bri to face the harsh truth: he is not suited to be the father of a child with special needs. He nearly convinces himself to give it another try, but ultimately recognizes that he lacks the maturity to shoulder such a significant responsibility.
