简介： Audrey Walker (portrayed by Jean Smart) had solemnly vowed to her mother, as she lay on her deathbed, to ensure the well-being of her two young siblings—one of whom faces mental challenges. Since then, Audrey has purposefully withdrawn from romantic entanglements, and by extension, from the vast majority of life's joys. As she enters middle age, Audrey has regressed into a resentful, acerbic spinster, bitter over how her family has seemingly stolen her right to a life of her own. It is with a sense of reluctance, then, that Audrey confronts the daunting task of raising her late sister's two children following her sister's tragic suicide.

Rest assured, however, that Audrey's burdened spirit finds solace when her former flame, Terry Lloyd (played by Richard Gilliland), reenters her life, ready to lend her a helping hand in navigating her new responsibilities. Tactically timed to grace the screens on Mother's Day—specifically, May 11, 2003—the cable network special, Audrey's Rain, was a production brought to us by the Hallmark Channel.
