That's So Raven is a quintessential American teen sitcom, capturing the essence of youthful life with a twist that nods to the charm of Bewitched. It first graced the Disney Channel screens on January 17, 2003, and concluded its run on November 10, 2007. The series gave birth to Disney Channel's pioneering spin-off, Cory in the House. Recognized for its exceptional children's programming, it received Emmy Award nominations in both 2005 and 2007.
This contemporary sitcom injects the supernatural into the teenage landscape, with Raven, the series' protagonist, endowed with an array of extraordinary abilities that lead her into the most intriguing predicaments. Set against the backdrop of San Francisco, the series follows the life of Raven Baxter, portrayed by Raven-Symoné, her close friends Eddie (Orlando Brown) and Chelsea (Anneliese van der Pol), and her family, particularly her brother Cory (Kyle Massey). The title character leverages her talent, creativity, psychic gifts, and an assortment of disguises to navigate the humorous complexities of adolescence and the early teen years.
Episodes of the show continued to enchant viewers well after their original broadcast, appearing on the ABC Kids block of Disney-owned ABC's broadcast network in the U.S., until the block was phased out on August 27, 2011. In Canada, reruns continue to delight audiences on Family and VRAK.TV, with select episodes also available on DVD. As of now, no formal announcement has been made regarding the possibility of comprehensive season releases on DVD or Blu-ray. That's So Raven maintains its appeal in syndication, consistently ranking among the highest-rated shows on the Disney Channel.
